American Gritland is organized by film festival veteran Brian Gordon and Julie Alexander. Brian has spent many years in the film festival world, including the San Francisco International Film Festival as the Golden Gate Awards Director and as Artistic Director at the Nashville Film Festival. He currently programs film for the Gold Coast Arts Center in Long Island, serve as an Associate Programmer for the Tribeca Film Festival and previews documentaries for the Sundance Film Festival and the television documentary series POV. Julie, born in Alabama, has developed, produced and directed filmmaking projects with the Nashville Film Festival where she worked wth at risk youth and directed four documentaries in connection with these projects. She also produces and directs theater.
